Aisha's Message to You

Asalam alaikum, Congratulations on your pregnancy! The childbearing year is full of wonder, excitement, planning, and uncertainty that can lead to anxiety and fear. Knowledge is power and preparation is key. Be wise with the time you have between now and your baby's birthday--get educated and prepare for your birth. It's your body, your baby, your birth, and your choice. Shop around and find care providers you trust. Get educated so that you can make informed decisions on your journey. I never said natural birth was easy, but I did say it's worth it! Plan for natural childbirth, yet be prepared if obstacles arise. Should your journey be met with complications, stay involved in the decisions made for your care so that you can utilize medical interventions and appreciate the options you have and keep control over what is done to you for the sake of your baby. Ask questions and use your B.R.A.I.N. Even a cesarean birth can be an empowering experience when parents are prepared and have the knowledge to weigh the benefits and risks of their choices. The childbirth experience matters for a lifetime.
