My name is Aisha and I live in Birmingham UK.
I was attracted to AMANI Birth because of the Islamic dimension of its purpose. It is a reminder, that Allah is the ultimate Controller and Creator of everything and it is to Him that we give our trust.
As a mother of six children experiencing both hospital and home births, I learnt that with knowledge and faith in Allah, it is possible to have the birth of your choice in the environment of your choosing whether that be in hospital or at home within the UK.
Every parent deserves a blessed start with their children. In order to facilitate this I will offer what I call the 3 Cs. Calmness, Continuity of care and Choice (informed). (The main precepts of AMANI Birth.)
Calmness in my actions and support as a doula
Continuity of care to enable the development of a relationship based on mutual trust between myself and the parents.
Choice - assisting parents to navigate through the volume of knowledge available from health professionals, social media and books in order for them to make informed choices as they proceed upon the journey of pregnancy to postpartum and beyond. By Allah's permission.
