Iman is a Certified AMANI Birth Doula and an AMANI Childbirth Educator-in-Training. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Organizational Leadership and has served marginal women in the United States as a social worker. Iman is currently completing her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work where she then hopes to combine doula work and childbirth education with counseling for new mothers, married couples and women’s groups, bidthnillah. Iman is the mother of five children, all of which were birthed naturally in various settings: at home, in hospital, with the support of midwives and with doctors. She also has personally come through the experiences of miscarriage and a still birth. Iman is originally from Florida, USA, has lived in Vancouver, Canada and currently resides in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Therefore, she feels fortunate to have experienced and witnessed birth from various cultural standpoints.

Congratulations on your upcoming birth! I look forward to meeting you and learning more about how I can support you during this important time. As a doula and childbirth educator, I combine evidenced-based training and my personal experience as a mother of five when supporting families. It is my mission to educate and support expectant mothers from diverse cultural, religious and economic backgrounds, so they can create their own vision for a healthy and empowering birth.
