Sumrana was raised in Jeddah and is a mother of three. For as long as she can remember, she has been passionate about serving women, which led her to a degree in psychology along with training in psychological counseling.
After the birth of her first child, she realized the importance of being educated about pregnancy and birth, especially in Jeddah. As the quote goes: “If you don’t know your options, you don’t have any.” (Diana Korte and Roberta Scaer, A Good Birth, A Safe Birth)
She trained with AMANI Birth as a Childbirth Educator & Birth Doula in 2014, and has been mentoring mothers since then to get rid of their fears and replace them with confidence, trust and empowerment.
She strongly believes that the expectant mom and dad are fully capable of making their own decisions and she is here to facilitate it by providing evidence based knowledge when they are overwhelmed by the information, right or wrong, on the internet.
After years of teaching childbirth classes, she also trained as a Breastfeeding Counselor (W.H.O/UNICEF) and a Bereavement Doula (StillBirthday). She is currently pursuing her Masters in Psychology and her aim is to integrate both her passions, psychology and birth work, and better herself as a professional.
