Following the holistic homebirth of her first child, Yusra’s awe, passion, and appreciation for Allah swt’s natural design of birth, inspired her to help expecting mothers unlock the secrets to an Allah-centric, natural birth experience. Yusra believes that birth is a blessed, natural, instinctual and sacred experience for the expecting mother. She encourages mothers to tap into this experience from a place of sound knowledge (‘ilm nafi’), submission, contentment, and trust, deep within her mental Mihraab; she believes the mother must completely submits herself physically, emotionally, and spiritually to Allah swt. Internalizing absolute inner acceptance and contentment to the Qadr of Allah SWT (His will) with Husn Dhunn (thinking well of it), and placing her utmost Tawakkal (trust) on Allah SWT and His perfect design of the natural inherently-safe birthing process. Through her journey, Yusra has come to realize that the greatest barrier that stands between a mother and her natural birth experience are seeds of doubt, fear, and lack of tawakkal that are cast into her mind and heart, and left to take root. Yusra instead works to uproot these harmful systemic doubts and fears from an Islamic Allah-centered paradigm. Yusra is also a holistic homeschooling mother, and a student of tibb & traditional herbal healing. In her downtime she enjoys learning new skills in nature, being with horses, and reading books with a cup of herbal tea.
