My name is Sister Zaakirah and I offer maternity support services spanning preconception to postpartum. The inspiration to become a professional birth worker was from a deep calling to support fellow sisters through such a vulnerable time in environments where our spiritual and cultural needs might not be understood.
To name a few things, I can assist with birth plans, sharing soothing techniques for general discomforts, and teaching childbirth education in order for parents to make informed and beneficial decisions for their families.
Moreover, I believe the key for empowering birth and perinatal support is teamwork, patience and compassion. Outside of birth work I enjoy nature walks, crafts, and poetry.
